dc.description.abstracten	This work refers to the remembrance and the act of the register of grants of Campo Grande Cine Palace, located in Campo Grande, in the west side of Rio de Janeiro City. We developed a research where the elements referring to the history and the remembrance of the movie theater and the district as well were intersected by the constant and deep changes caused by modern times, that both charm people and cause new ways of living and interaction, having the movie theater as a basic element on the mental process of those structures. We analysed the importance that a movie theater has in its community and the meaning of its remembrance on the present neighbourhood. As empiric material, we used the legal proceedings of the register of grants of the Campo Grande Cine Palace, besides journalistic issues and testimonies given by people who had part in the struggle against the shutting of the movie theater. The former theater was sold to Universal Church of God´s Kingdom, creating a contrast between those new activities and the proceedings of the register of grants, which is the subject boarded in this work. We concluded this work pointing out that if the register of grants was important for mantaining alive the remembrance of the movie theater, it is not the exclusive element of that remembrance. Other situations added elements so that the remembrance could actually exist. The connection people have with movie theaters makes significant ties of affection, originated from specific situations at the movie theater that caused strong memories in everyone lives, memories provided by the big screen and the movies showed in it. Such memories represent elements that fulfill and also give distinction for that the remembrance of Campo Grande Cine Palace continues existing.	pt_BR

dc.description.abstractpt	O presente trabalho focaliza a memória e o tombamento do Cine Palácio Campo Grande, localizado na Zona Oeste do Rio de Janeiro no bairro de mesmo nome. Desenvolvemos uma pesquisa na qual os elementos referentes à história e a memória do bairro e do cinema foram entrecortadas pelas constantes e profundas mudanças advindas da modernidade, que ao mesmo tempo encantaram e provocaram novas formas de viver e se relacionar tendo o cinema como elemento fundamental na construção mental destes processos. Analisamos a importância e o significado de um cinema para uma comunidade e como sua memória se faz presente. Utilizamos como material empírico o processo de tombamento do Cine Palácio Campo Grande, matérias jornalísticas e entrevistas realizadas com pessoas que participaram pela luta de mobilização contra o fechamento do cinema. A venda e o fechamento do cinema para dar lugar a uma Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus contrastam com seu tombamento, elemento estudado e discutido neste trabalho. Concluímos o trabalho lembrando que se o tombamento do prédio foi importante para que sua memória permanecesse viva, ele não é um elemento exclusivo, pois outras situações contribuíram para que essa memória pudesse efetivamente existir. A relação das pessoas com o cinema, criando elos afetivos e significativos, o fato de terem vivido situações específicas que marcaram suas vidas no interior do cinema e a partir da experiência proporcionada pela tela grande e pelos filmes ali assistidos representam elementos que se completam e que tem destaque para que a memória do Cine Palácio Campo Grande continue a existir.	pt_BR
