dc.description.abstracten	Introduction: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection due to its severity, mainly due to the evolution of opportunistic diseases and its pandemic character, represents a current health problem. In 1996, Law No. 9,313 / 96 was issued, guaranteeing the free distribution of antiretroviral drugs under SUS. Annually, there are approximately 65 thousand individuals who initiate antiretroviral therapy (ART) in the country. In this context, religion and spirituality collaborate to address health problems. Objectives: To investigate the religious beliefs of people living with HIV / AIDS; to analyze the relationship between the religious beliefs and spirituality of these patients with ARV adherence and the quality of life regarding adherence to treatment, based on the interviewees' statements. Methods: Descriptive study of a qualitative nature, using a semi-structured interview script. In the period from January to May of 2018, 17 PLHIV were interviewed at the Immunology outpatient clinic of the Gafreé Guinle University Hospital (HUGG) of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The qualitative analysis of the speeches used the Content Analysis method, aiming at the interpretation of the meaning of the speeches of the subjects interviewed. Results: Of the 17 patients, 58% (10) were male, with a productive age between 30 and 59 years old, with a percentage of 75% (13). In terms of schooling, high school education prevailed 29% (5). The patients interviewed present about 5 to 10 years of treatment, but 29% (5) have treated for more than 20 years. Regarding their religious beliefs, the majority (45%) reported attending Spiritist and / or African matrices such as Umbanda and Candomblé, which were followed by the 42% (7) evangelical religion. Discussion: Four thematic categories were elaborated that represent the most relevant findings involving the research objectives. The first one entitled: The Religious Beliefs before and after the diagnosis, which pointed out the change of religion after the diagnosis, in the search for a greater reception. The second From Sin to Cure: the stigmas surrounding Religious Beliefs and PLHIV, presented how much the stigmas surrounding disease and prejudice promote behavioral changes in the individual. The third Adherence to treatment: myths and truths, made the hypothesis that religion and spirituality collaborate in adherence to ART, but pointed out the importance of the family in this process. And lastly, the influence of Religious Beliefs and Spirituality on the Quality of Life of PLHIV, consolidated the changes in behavior caused after the diagnosis make possible a higher quality of life for PLHIV. Final Thoughts: Religion and spirituality have been identified as promoters of a new reality of life. But they are not the only ones responsible for such changes, the family has an important role in this process. It was observed through the speeches, how much the family contributes in the decision to accept and adhere to the treatment. The desire to live with and approach the family collaborated in the behavioral modifications of PLHIV.	pt_BR

Em 1996 foi publicada a Lei n° 9.313/96, garantindo a distribuição gratuita dos medicamentos antirretrovirais no âmbito do SUS. Anualmente, são aproximadamente 65 mil indivíduos que iniciam Terapia Antirretroviral (TARV) no país. Nesse contexto a religião e a espiritualidade colaboram para o enfrentamento dos agravos a saúde. Objetivos: investigar as crenças religiosas das pessoas vivendo com HIV/aids; analisar a relação entre as crenças religiosas e espiritualidade desses pacientes com a adesão aos ARV e a qualidade de vida diante da adesão ao tratamento, a partir das falas dos entrevistados. Métodos: estudo descritivo de natureza qualitativa, que utilizou um roteiro de entrevista semi-estruturado. Durante o período de janeiro a maio de 2018, foram entrevistados 17 PVHA em tratamento no ambulatório de Imunologia do Hospital Universitário Gafreé Guinle (HUGG) da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. A análise qualitativa das falas utilizou o método da Análise de Conteúdo, visando à interpretação do sentido das falas dos sujeitos entrevistados. Resultados: dos 17 pacientes entrevistados, 58% (10) são do sexo masculino, com idade produtiva entre 30 e 59 anos com percentual de 75% (13). No quesito escolaridade prevaleceu o ensino médio 29% (5). Os pacientes entrevistados apresentam cerca de 5 a 10 anos de tratamento, porém 29% (5) tratam há mais de 20 anos. Sobre suas crenças religiosas, a grande maioria 45% (8) relatou frequentar religiões espíritas e/ou de matrizes africanas como Umbanda e Candomblé, essas foram seguidas pela religião evangélica representada por 42% (7). Discussão: foram elaboradas quatro categorias temáticas que representam os achados mais relevantes envolvendo os objetivos da pesquisa. A primeira delas intitulada: as Crenças Religiosas antes e após o diagnóstico, que apontou a mudança de religião após o diagnóstico, na busca por um maior acolhimento. A segunda: do pecado a cura: os estigmas que envolvem as Crenças Religiosas e as PVHIV, apresentou o quanto os estigmas que envolvem a doença e o preconceito promovem mudanças comportamentais no indivíduo. A terceira: a adesão ao tratamento: mitos e verdades, concretizou a hipótese que a religião e espiritualidade colaboram na adesão a TARV, porém apontou a importância da família nesse processo. E por fim: a influência das Crenças Religiosas e Espiritualidade na Qualidade de Vida da PVHIV, consolidou o quanto as mudanças de comportamento ocasionadas após o diagnóstico possibilitam maior qualidade de vida a PVHIV. Considerações Finais: a religião e a espiritualidade foram identificadas como promotoras de uma nova realidade de vida. Mas elas não são as únicas responsáveis por tais mudanças, a família tem um papel importante nesse processo. Foi observado através das falas, o quanto a família contribui na decisão de aceitar e aderir ao tratamento. O desejo de conviver e se aproximar da família, colaborou nas modificações de comportamento da PVHIV.	pt_BR
