dc.description.abstracten The historic palace located in Praça XV, in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro, constitutes the central axis of the institutional narrative of the object of investigation of this dissertation: the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Health (CCMS). Inaugurated in 1922 as the Statistics Pavilion for the International Exposition of the Centennial of Independence, the building has a century-old history, housing, throughout its existence, institutions fundamental to public health, such as the Port Health Service and the Port Surveillance. Since its last occupation, it has remained the headquarters of the Cultural Center of the Ministry of Health, an institution linked to the General Coordination of Documentation and Information (CGDI) of the Ministry of Health. Over the decades, the building has suffered the impacts of time and successive adaptations resulting from new administrative occupations, remaining a resilient landmark integrated into an urban space of relevance both for the city and the country. This research focused on the historic building and the institution that has occupied it for more than two decades, configured as an important instrument for the dissemination of knowledge, promoting the intersection between public health, art, and culture through exhibitions aimed at health promotion and disease prevention. The investigation sought to highlight the relevance of this informational collection and the historical traces that compose the trajectory of the building and the institution installed within it, understanding the building as a testimonial object, a bearer of memories that reflects the evolution of public health policies in Brazil, with both the building and the institution configured as expressions of the Cultural Heritage of Health. pt_BR
